Chicago Blues meets Brazilian Soul for an international groove summit, on this collection of fresh and funky tunes deeply rooted in blues yet boldly contemporary in sound. Veteran artists Omar Coleman (Chicago) and Blues Music Award nominee Igor Prado (São Paulo) have crafted six compelling originals and combined them with five soul treasures for this funky and blue project.  Old, New, Funky and Blue combines the streetwise West Side Chicago blues of Coleman with the fiery, Albert King- and Albert Collins-influenced guitar work of Brazilian artist Igor Prado.

“Old, New, Funky and Blue has a relentless pulse and energy to spare. You may find yourself dancing around the house or giving the accelerator a little extra. Prado and Coleman are one of those “peanut butter and jelly” duos, inseparably meant for each other. Let’s hope their act gets several encores.”  - Rock & Blues Muse

“Rich with respect for where the blues has been and excitement for where it’s headed, Old, New, Funky and Blue blends tradition with funk and soul. Outstanding songwriting, singing, and musicianship come together with polish and passion, serving as a powerful reminder that the blues still brings people together—and the world could certainly use more of that."
